EBENEZER'S TREASURES
The Haunted Bookshop's occult jewellery collection is a tribute to esoteric Melbourne stage performer and gothic emcee Ebenezer Schadenfreude, whose dark cabaret show Petite Mort ran throughout 2008 at venues including La Mama, Glasshouse, Cabaret Voltaire and Czech Club. Part of the show involved the "fallen funeral director" stealing jewellery from theatre audiences, earning him the reputation of being an aficionado of unusual quality pieces.
